No data collected — in the current version.

TallyBird currently has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. Every piece of data you enter stays on your iPhone. Cloud sync is on the roadmap and will always be opt-in — this policy will be updated before it ships.

Overview

TallyBird is a clay target sports scoring application for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains how TallyBird handles your information. The short version: TallyBird does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All information you enter into the app is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and never leaves it.

Information We Collect

TallyBird does not collect any information. The app operates entirely on your device and has no backend server, no user accounts, no analytics SDK, and no third-party data integrations of any kind.

The following types of data are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted anywhere:

Data TypeWhere It Is StoredWho Can Access It
Shooter names and profilesYour device (SwiftData)Only you
NSCA classification and handicapYour device (SwiftData)Only you
Home club informationYour device (SwiftData)Only you

How Your Data Is Stored

All app data is persisted using Apple SwiftData, Apple's native on-device data persistence framework. This data is stored in your device's protected app container, subject to iOS's standard sandboxing and encryption protections. It is included in your iCloud Backup if you have iCloud Backup enabled for your device — this is standard iOS behavior controlled entirely by your own iCloud settings, not by TallyBird.

Data We Do Not Collect

To be explicit, TallyBird does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
  • Your location or GPS data
  • Device identifiers, advertising IDs (IDFA), or analytics identifiers
  • Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral telemetry
  • Any data through third-party SDKs — there are none
  • Payment information of any kind

Score Sharing

TallyBird includes an optional feature that allows you to share a scorecard summary via email, text message, or AirDrop. This sharing is initiated entirely by you, uses your device's native iOS Share Sheet, and is no different from copying text and sending it yourself. TallyBird does not send, receive, or log any data as part of this action.

Children's Privacy

TallyBird does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by virtue of collecting no data whatsoever.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you are in complete control of it at all times. You can delete all app data at any time by deleting the TallyBird app from your device. Deleting the app removes all associated SwiftData stores from your device permanently.

Third-Party Services

TallyBird does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or cloud providers. There are no third-party SDKs embedded in the app.

Changes to This Policy

If TallyBird's data practices change in the future — for example, if optional cloud sync or account features are introduced — this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features are released, and users will be notified within the app. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the date of any update.
